My record speaks for
itself. Now let me speak for you! |
I am a candidate for president of the National Association of Black Journalists for the 2003-2005 term.
As your president I will work to:
Present a strong voice of support for Black Journalists and for accurate and fair coverage of Black Issues. |
Improve NABJ's financial solvency and work to achieve independence by reviewing our financial structure and identifying and securing new sources of funding. |
Actively monitor the media and governing agencies. |
Help NABJ become a more proactive partner and respected player in the industry by working with other organizations to achieve diversity, parity and balance in newsrooms. |
Work with members to build strong chapters by improving communication, offering more professional development programs and addressing local needs. |
Look critically at diversity in journalism education and work with colleges and universities to increase the dismal number of professors and deans. |
